A four-part introduction

Move through four connected ideas. This introduction is an orientation, not initiation, authority or proof of attainment.

The Buddha and awakening

Siddhattha Gotama is remembered in Buddhist traditions as a teacher who investigated suffering, practised, awakened and taught a path rather than demanding belief in his status alone.

Four Noble Truths

The fourfold framework examines distress, its conditions, cessation and a path. It is a practice map, not a medical diagnosis.

Ethics, meditation and wisdom

Conduct, collected attention and understanding support each other. Isolating one can distort the whole training.

Continue with care

Read recognised translations, compare lineages, practise within safe limits and ask qualified teachers what a short website cannot answer.
