Origin and scope
A trauma-aware educational adaptation; not a substitute for anxiety assessment or treatment.
Posture and setup
Choose a physically sustainable position, keep choice available and begin with a modest duration.
Step 1
Keep the eyes open and orient to exits and present safety.
Step 2
Choose an external anchor such as colour or sound.
Step 3
Practise for one minute before deciding whether to continue.
Step 4
Allow anxious sensations without holding or forcing the breath.
Step 5
End with movement and contact a trusted person if useful.
Obstacles and safety
Breath focus and stillness can intensify panic. Stop and seek qualified support for persistent, severe or escalating symptoms.
Next practice
Repeat briefly, note what actually occurred, and seek an appropriately qualified teacher when questions exceed this introduction.
